While searching for a nature conservation fund ”Sevan” natonal park” SNCՕ met IDEA WILD fund which is an international foundation and which works to equip, empower and activate the world’s most promising environmental organizations to improve and strengthen the conservation of the planet’s biodiversity. In June 2017 “Sevan” national park” SNCO has applied to the IDEA WILD Biodiversity Conservation Organization for a nature conservation grant. We have submitted a project named “Acquisition of drones for improvement of biodiversity conservation of ”Sevan” natonal park” SNCՕ. The project was directed to technical refurbishment of “Sevan” national park” SNCO with advanced IT. The foundation IDEA WILD has approved our project and in 26-th of November 2017 has been donated the “Sevan” national park” SNCO with the drones in amount of 1000 USD just with the drones Parrot DISCO FPV and Parrot Bebop 2 Drone.
As an innovative environmental conservation tools they help us to boost the conservation activities in the whole territory of “Sevan” national park, to assess current situation of dense forests as well as to conduct studies on the current status of water birds (aquatic birds) in the lake Sevan. Except that the drones help us in the conservation of sanctuaries and reserves of ”Sevan” national park, especially in the conservation of rare endemic plants to exclude human harmful impact in those places of vital importance as well as to prevent illegal deforestation of protected areas because every tree, every species, every place plays a crucial role in our natural world and because our collective future depends on it.
Nature is on what our life and existence depends. This is the source of wellbeing and livelihood and to protect it is our responsibility and priority issue. The donated drones have helped our national park to facilitate the conservation, what for we express our deep gratitude to IDEA WILD Foundation.
