It is situated on the littoral zone of Noratus peninsula and the riverhead of the Gavaraget River, covering an area of 845 ha, of which 552 ha- terrestrial and 293-aquatic. The total length of the boundary is 26.4 km. Territory of the sanctuary stretches with 7.5 km length and 0.5-3.5 km width.
