Nature-scientific museum of “Sevan” national park SNCO was founded in 1996 and works till now. The main goal of its activity is to provide society with information about surrounding environment of Sevan region, about its history, fauna, flora, lithosphere,etc. The collection works of museum-pieces began exactly at first days of foundation of national park and were acquired through donation or purchase. In the museum there are demonstrated about 700 museum-pieces, all of which are represented in exhibitions funds. The museum hasn’t funds provided for protection. The acquisition works were carried out on the whole territory of Gegharkunik Region and are going on till now. The museum includes two halls with their separate sections:

- Ethnography
- Minerals
- Avifauna
- Fauna
- Ichtyofauna
The exhibition in museum begins in chronological order by demonstrating of history and ethnography of Sevan region. The museum has to carry out the collecting, research, elaborating, conservation works according to appropriate sections. It provides information about Sevan region. The museum has a library with corresponding literature, which is studied not only by specialists of “Sevan” national park SNCO but also by population. There are organized events, film-watching, seminars, debates referring the lake Sevan, the questions of the pollution of surrounding environment, nature protection etc. There are arranged public, teaching, cognitive courses and quizzes. Kept is the contact with schools, nursery, children and youth centers, tourists, moreover there are organized excursions with people of different ages.
