Birds<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

In the territory of \u201cSevan\u201d national park and in its buffer zone there are 267 bird species, which belong to the following taxonomic Orders:<\/span><\/p>\n

1.    <\/span><\/span><\/span>Grebes (Podicipediformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

2.    <\/span><\/span><\/span>Herons ( Pelecniformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

3.    <\/span><\/span><\/span>Herons, Egrets and Ibis (Ciconiiformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

4.    <\/span><\/span><\/span>Flamingo (Phoenicopetriformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

5.    <\/span><\/span><\/span>Carnivores (Falconiformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

6.    <\/span><\/span><\/span>Geese, Ducks, Swans (Anseriformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

7.    <\/span><\/span><\/span>Gamebirds  <\/span> <\/span>(Galliformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

8.    <\/span><\/span><\/span>Cranes, Rails (Gruiformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

9.    <\/span><\/span><\/span>Shorebirds, Gulls and Charadre (Charadriiformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

10. <\/span><\/span>Pigeons and Doves (Columbiformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

11. <\/span><\/span>Cuckoos (Cuculiformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

12. <\/span><\/span>Owl (Strigiformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

13. <\/span><\/span>Nightjars (Caprimulgiformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

14. <\/span><\/span>Swifts, Swallow (Apodiformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

15. <\/span><\/span>Bee-eater, Rollers and Hoopoes (Coraciformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

16. <\/span><\/span>Woodpeckers (Piciformes<\/i>)<\/span><\/p>\n

17. <\/span><\/span>Perching and Songbirds (Passeriformes<\/i>) 102 species<\/span><\/p>\n

There are currently 39 bird species found in the national park territory, which are included in the Red book of Armenia. One of them Armenian gull (Laurus armenicus<\/i>) is an endemic species. 20 species of 267 found in the territory of \u201cSevan\u201d national park are rare species, but they aren\u2019t recorded in the Red book of Armenia. Those are: red-necked grebe (Podiceps grisengena<\/i>), great crested grebe (Podiceps cristatus<\/i> ), little egret (Egrettea garzetta<\/i>) ,black kite (Milvus migrans<\/i>), Long-legged buzzard(Buteo rufinus<\/i>), lesser spotted eagle (Aquila pomarina<\/i>), ruddy shelduck (Tadorna ferruginea<\/i>), golden oriole (Oriolus oriolus<\/i>), simple nightingale (Luscinia luscinia<\/i>), little ringed plover (Charadrius dubius<\/i>), black sandpiper (Tringa orchropus<\/i>), common sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos<\/i>),common tern (Sterna hirundo<\/i>), long-eared owl (Asio otus<\/i>), European  <\/span>nightjars (Carmulgus europaeus<\/i>), western marsh harrier (Circus aeruginosus<\/i>), northern lapwing (Vanellus vanellus<\/i>), great-spotted  <\/span>woodpecker (Dendrocopos major<\/i>), Eurasian crag martin (Ptyonoprogne ripestris<\/i>). In addition black kite, simple nightingale and black sandpiper are migrating but not breeding species in the National Park territory.  <\/span>Nowadays the state of 39 species recorded in the Red Book of Armenia and namely of 29 species of a vital economic importance remains insufficient and unsatisfactory, because of natural and human negative influence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Especially endangered are the following species  <\/span>listed in the Red Book of Armenia  <\/span>because of their small number and vulnerability of nesting sites, for example common raven (Corvus corax<\/i>),great white pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus<\/i>), grey heron (Ardea cinerea<\/i>), dalmatian pelican (Pelicanus crispus<\/i>), great cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo<\/i>), whooper swan (Cygnus Cygnus<\/i>), gadwall(Anas strepera<\/i>), marbled duck (Anas angustirostris<\/i>), white-headed duck (Oxyura leucocephala<\/i>), Montagu\u2019s harrier (Circus pygargus<\/i>), European  <\/span>levant sparrowhawk (Accipiter brevipes<\/i>), golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos<\/i>), cinereous vulture (Aegypius monachus<\/i>), lanner falcon (Falco biarmicus<\/i>), peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus<\/i>), common crane (Grus grus<\/i>), common rock thrush (Monticola saxastilis<\/i>).<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
